13.ZS6TJ QRM-QDM ANTENNA By ZS6EF May 1986

In may 1986 a article was published by John ZS6EF for a very simple but efficient and cost

effective using some wood , a few pieces of coax, wire and connection blocks to connect the

Electrical parts and wood screws to assemble the wooden frame…I build it and even painted

it yellow..It was build to participate in fox hunts and for finding interference both accidental

and man made on the 2m band.

The first successful fox hunt was planned the next month on Saturday 5 July 1986 ..and

Gerald ZS6BTD was the Fox..Cannot remember where he was hiding cause there where so

many after that one ..

This one I had a fellow hamster Franscois Van Wyk ZS6FW with me assisting me with the

mobile on the road fox-hunt starting at the club-house and then to the nearest high site to

take bearings ..cause it was called radio orienteering sport also oversees ..

Well cannot remember much but I remember breaking the record under a half hours and

winning it for the first rookie fox hunter and my name on the trophy as you can see in the

photos below..and also the article to build the directional antenna ..
